The UK Childhood Cancer Conference 2015 took place on Friday 15 May at the Cavendish Conference Centre in Central London. Building on the success of 2014’s inaugural conference, the conference was designed to bring together paediatric oncology researchers, world-leading experts, allied health professionals working in the field of paediatric oncology, support groups, children’s cancer charities and most importantly parents of children affected by childhood cancer, to enable them to be informed and influential partners involved in research.

The first UK Childhood Cancer Conference took place in Birmingham on 14th May 2014, bringing together parents and professionals and with a focus on childhood cancer research.
The programme included updates on current developments and research in leukaemia, brain and central nervous system tumours, and solid tumours. Breakout sessions allowed participants to explore the potential of organisations working together to maximise research funding, and to consider how parents can be involved in research, including setting research priorities. The programme concluded with looking at recent advances in cancer treatment, and considering the issues around early diagnosis and how this might be improved.
